First Day Of School

A journey of a thousand miles begin with a first step. It is hard to believe that three years have gone by since i first set foot in kent ridge secondary school. Although it has already been about three years, the memories i had on the first day of schiool are still fresh in my mind.
Life in primary school is so different from that in secondary school. In primary school, there is no such thing as detention for late-coming and regular attire check. In my opinion, secondary school demandsmore discipline. We, as students, would get into more trouble because of the relatively higher standard that was set and for us to follow. We wpi;d frequently be stopped by teachers for not tucking in our shirt or not being neatly-attired. Nothing escapes their eyes.

My first day of school was better than what i had expected. Better in terms of adapting to the new environment and also to make new friends. My aim was to make at least three new friends on the first day but, I managed to get to know almost the whole class thanks to the ice-breaker games provided by the student councillors. Most of my friends were familiar with one another as they were from the same primary scholl somewhere from the same neighbourhood. My situation was rather different. I live somewhere quite far away from Kent Ridge and i know little about the school and the neighbourhood. To this day, I still don't have the slightest idea why i had chosen Kent Ridge as my first choice. I regret having to wake up earlier than my friends to go to school. However, i sure have had a good time here in Kent Ridge. I guess it was fate that had brought me here. I was impressed how the student councillors managed us in order for us to know each other better. I have to be honest that i was inspired to be one of them.

And so the days went by and things tend to get "normal" for myself. I had adapted to the new live and could cope well for almost everything live has to offer. I am know more mature physically and mentally. I am also more ready to face challenges in life so that i could be a successful person one day.
